Baiyin North West zinc smelter
Report summary
Construction of the Baiyin North West Zinc Smelter (BNWZS) commenced in the late 1980s and it was commissioned in 1992. The BNWZS had a nominal capacity of 100kt/a-slab zinc and uses the Jarosite Process. However official capacity is now reported at 130kt/a but this is due to the incorporation of capacity from another plant acquired by the Baiyin Group in 2012.
