Bald Mountain gold mine
Report summary
Bald Mountain is an open-pit mining operation with gold recovery by conventional heap leaching. In January 2016, Barrick completed the sale of Bald Mountain and 50% interest Round Mountain to Kinross Gold. As part of plans to increase production and extend mine life, development of the Vantage Complex (located south of Bald Mountain) commenced in 2017. Initial capital expenditure was estimated at US$105 million, including construction of a new 68Mt capacity heap leach pad and related infrastructure.
