Barrick Gold announced the sale of a 50% interest in its Veladero mine in Argentina to Shandong Gold for US$960 million. Both companies will also form a working group to explore joint development of the world class Pascua-Lama Project, and evaluate potential investment opportunities on the El Indio Gold Belt on the border of Argentina and Chile.
