Asset Report
Blackwater gold mine project
Report summary
Blackwater is planned to be an open pit gold-silver operation utilising conventional truck and shovel mining methods in British Columbia, Canada producing an average of approximately 339koz of gold per year. Construction of the site and its processing facilities are anticipated to begin in Q1 2023. Mine life is estimated at 22 years. Development of the operation is unconventional in the sense that it is planned to be achieved in three consecutive phases to mitigate upfront capital costs and spread the financial stress over multiple years. The first phase (Years 1-5) is expected to cost C$645 million, followed by a second expansion (Years 6-10) estimated at C$347 million and the final expansion (Years 11-17) cost of C$374 million. Capital spend will occur in the years prior to the beginning of each phase.
