Blötberget is a proposed underground magnetite iron ore mine located in the Dalarna region of central Sweden and is wholly owned by Nordic Iron Ore AB. The company acquired the project in 2008 and is advancing it towards redevelopment, although the project has experienced repeated delays due to financing constraints. We now assume first ore in 2029, with the operation ramping up to 3.2 Mtpa of run-of-mine ore and approximately 1.5 Mtpa of saleable 69% Fe concentrate. The premium concentrate will be marketed primarily to European and Eurasian steel producers. Initial capital expenditure is estimated at approximately US$260 million, equivalent to a capital intensity of around US$170/t of annual concentrate capacity.
