Bongara Restart zinc mine project
Report summary
The Bongara Restart project assumes open pit mining methods. The processing method was still not defined by the end of 2017. However, the Waelz Kiln treatment method was under consideration. Between March 2007 to July 2008, the mine produced about 25,000 tonnes of zinc. It was put under care and maintenance when zinc prices declined. Wood Mackenzie assumes 2021 as production start year. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
