Report summary
From 1998 to 2002, the Bwana M'Kubwa plant re-processed copper-bearing mine tailings produced by historic operations at the site. From 2002 to October 2008, open pit ore from FQM's Lonshi mine in the DRC was processed at the facility. In October 2008 the Bwana M'Kubwa plant was placed on ‘care and maintenance' after ore supplies from Lonshi ceased.
