Casapalca (Americana) zinc mine
Report summary
Casapalca is an underground mine exploiting manto orebodies in the deeper parts of the mine and vein-hosted orebodies in the upper levels. Around 80% of the ore is sourced from the lower manto orebodies, with the remainder from veins in the upper levels. The Berna 2 processing plant is a conventional crushing-grinding-flotation circuit. Milling capacity is approximately 6ktpd. The mine produces copper, lead-silver and zinc concentrate.
