Cobar CSA is a deep, underground polymetallic mine located in mid-western NSW, Australia. The mine began large scale production in 1965 and has been producing a single copper-silver concentrate since depletion of lead/zinc reserves in 1994. The mine is 100% owned and operated by Glencore, who re-opened the operation in 1999 after it was closed in 1997/8 by Ashanti Goldfields. Concentrate is railed 700 kilometres to Newcastle and shipped to smelters in Asia.
