Asset Report
Cobriza copper mine
Report summary
Cobriza operates an underground mine and a conventional 9.1kt/d concentrator. Since the beginning of the mine life, the concentrator has operated at a rate below its capacity due to lack of mine ore and lately (2016 and 2017) due to lack of capacity in the tailings dam. Because of previous failures to privatise Cobriza and La Oroya complex together, the Peruvian government was looking at privatisation as separate entities. In October 2018 Cobriza was separated from La Oroya.
