Report summary
Cobriza operates an underground mine and a conventional 9.1kt/d concentrator. Since the beginning of the mine, the concentrator was operated at a rate quite below its capacity due to lack of mine ore and lately (2016 and 2017) due to lack of capacity of the tailing dam.Because of previous failures to privatise Cobriza and La Oroya complex together, the Peruvian government is looking for a privatisation as separate entities. The Privatisation of Cobriza is expected for Q1 2018.
