Report summary
The Cowal mine is a surface operation, located 40 kilometres north-east of West Wyalong, in New South Wales, Australia. The mine is 100% owned and operated by Evolution Mining. Mining commenced in 2005 and processing in 2006. Till date, gold production has been around 250koz per annum, with gold extracted from oxide and sulphide ore using a conventional carbon-in-leach cyanide processing circuit. In July 2020, Evolution released its maiden underground resource at the mine to support its growth to the next stage. In 2021, the development of the underground mine received Board approval.
