Creston-Mascota is a stand alone heap leach facility located 7km north of Agnico-Eagle's Pinos Altos mine. Mine administration activities and refining is carried out at Pinos Altos. The environmental risk permit and the municipal construction permits were received prior to commencement of heap leaching. The Environmental Impact and Change of Land Use permits from the Ministry of the Environment as well as permits from the National Institute of Anthropology and History were also obtained prior to commencement of commercial production in 2011. The mine produced 39koz of gold in 2020. Mining activities ceased in Q3, 2020 due to depletion of reserves. Currently, the operation is extracting gold via residual leaching.
