Decoding aluminium demand in India
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
After years of impressive economic growth India is now the tenth largest economy in the world by nominal GDP. Yet aluminium demand has been relatively subdued as the manufacturing sector has lagged services as a proportion of GDP. This contrasts starkly with the Chinese economy. At first glance it would seem that India with its huge consumer base and rapid infrastructure development would see massive aluminium demand in volume terms like China.
