Deflector is located in the southern Murchison region of Western Australia, 450km north of Perth. It is a shallow narrow vein, high-grade gold and copper underground mine. Production commenced in May 2016 and the operation became part of Silver Lake Resources, after the completion of its merger with Doray Minerals in April 2019. The Deflector mill utilises a gravity circuit to recover gold, prior to the production of a copper-gold concentrate through flotation methods. An additional CIP circuit was commissioned in June 2021, which will complement the existing gravity and flotation circuits and is expected to uplift gold recovery by 4-5%. In February 2024, Silver Lake Resources and Red 5 announced plans to merge. The merger was completed in June.
