Del Toro zinc mine
Report summary
Del Toro is a primarily silver mine with zinc and lead by products. Mining is by underground methods. The mine is a consolidation of the historic Perseverancia and San Juan mines which are located about 1km apart. The flotation circuit and cyanidation circuits achieved commercial production in April 2013 and January 2014 respectively. Following metallurgical issues during 2014 with the transitional ore, the cyanidation plant was put on care and maintenance pending further exploration results. As of 2014, zinc concentrate production ceased and only the lead flotation circuit is in operation. The mine was placed under temporary care and maintenance from January 2020.
