Detour Lake gold mine

Report summary

The original Detour Lake mine was operated by Placer Dome between 1983 and 1999. The current mine is based on the bulk open pit mining of a major low grade resource delineated on the 242km property. The processing plant comprises a standard gravity, cyanidation and carbon-in-pulp (CIP) circuit operating at 55kt/d and ramping up to 61kt/d in 2017. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
