Report summary
On the 7 April 2014 the two largest single site smelters by production outside of China merged under the umbrella of Emirates Global Aluminium. The combined entity, comprising the Dubal and Emal smelters in the UAE, will produce more than 2Mt of primary aluminium in 2014, rising to almost 2.4Mtpa by 2016, making it the world's fifth largest aluminium company by production.
