Asset Report
Escondida gold minesite
Report summary
The mine is currently (2018) operating two open pits (Escondida and Escondida Norte) and since Q4 2017, after significant water and power constraints were overcome, Escondida could operate its three concentrators. For 2018 the total mill capacity was rated at 408kt/d ore (152kt/d ore for both Laguna Seca and OGP1 and 104kt/d ore for the Los Colorados). This provides Escondida with milling flexibility to offset the future declining quality of the ore. Copper concentrates also contain gold and silver in saleable quantities. These represented 6% in 2017 of the total concentrate revenue and 7% in 2016.
