Report summary
Antam's Ferronickel (FeNi) Halmahera project is estimated to produce 27kt Ni in ferronickel with an investment cost of US$1.6 billion, including 260MW power plants. Antam plans to build the power plants using Indonesia's Independent Power Producer (IPP) scheme to minimise the project cost. As such, Antam expects the project cost to amount to between US$800-US$900 million without the power plant. The operation was due to start-up in 2019, but due to various delays associated with the installation of the power plants production is now expected in 2020.
