Global cathode and precursor short-term outlook April 2022
Report summary
In April, the price for most cathode materials showed a slight downtrend for the first time in the past 12 months, driven by the drop in raw material prices and weakening demand owing to widespread Covid-19 disruption in China. The production of ternary cathode materials, precursors and LFP cathode were only slightly affected by the lockdown in China, with major producers still operating at a high rate. However, the markets of LCO and LMO cathodes suffered severely.
