Global graphite short-term outlook August 2023

Graphite's summer lull appears to be nearing an end as prices for natural graphite anode material and the precursors for its synthetic competitor remained stable over July. Although EV sales fell considerably during the month, Chinese manufacturers have once again cut prices to encourage demand. As this clear out stocks held at graphite producers, a restocking cycle could see prices begin to move in the opposite direction.
