End users stocked up on material following the announcement of licenses for Chinese exports of graphite and its products, while imports of graphite concentrate into China jumped as mid-stream processors rushed to advance orders ahead of the December deadline. The renewed trading conditions incentivised the largest move upwards in ex-China graphite prices since January 2022.
