Nickel prices are driven up sharply by speculation then apparent confirmation of an early Indonesian ore export ban. As the share of nickel supply at risk is considerable, we review the impact this ban could have on the market. There are also new developments in Europe's resistance to Tsingshan Indonesia's expanding stainless export business. And battery demand for nickel sulphate in China is weakening.
