Commodity Market Report
Global nickel short-term outlook February 2022
Report summary
Nickel prices keep rising and then shoot higher as Ukrainian tensions drive speculation on how sanctions might affect Russian nickel supply. Meanwhile nickel demand remains strong from stainless steel and batteries. Although Chinese stainless is down on last year, a rebound is coming. In Europe, it could be the opposite - current strength moderating in the second half of the year. And in Indonesia, a second HPAL plants starts shipping MHP.
