Report summary
Stainless markets around the world continue to struggle as economies try to avoid recession. Even China is off colour and one Indonesian mill has suspended production. Meanwhile, in Europe, stainless transaction prices are so low they are now on parity with published alloy surcharges. Growth will return in 2024 but globally, over the mid- to long-term, this will largely be confined to China, India and Indonesia.
