Report summary
The Goldex complex is Agnico Eagle’s easternmost operation in the Abitibi region, comprising the underground Goldex mine, the nearby Akasaba West open‑pit gold‑copper mine, and an 8kt/d processing plant. Goldex began underground production in 2013 from the M and E zones and has since expanded to the South and Deep 1 zones, with first output from the deeper Deep 2 Zone achieved in June 2024 at about 1,200 metres below surface. Akasaba West, acquired in 2014 and in commercial production since early 2024, is expected to produce around 115,000 ounces of gold and 21,000 tonnes of copper over five years.
