Gramercy alumina refinery

Report summary

Gramercy was commissioned with an initial capacity of 400kt/a at a capex of US$70M in 1959.  The refinery is situated along the Mississippi River and supplies the company’s New Madrid aluminium smelter, which is located upstream in Missouri, among other customers. The refinery produces smelter grade alumina and non-metallurgical grade alumina in the proportion of about 4:1 at full capacity.
