Report summaryHuaron is a polymetallic underground operation which has been in production since 1972. The current (2016) milling capacity is 2.8kt/d ore. The nearest city of Cerro de Pasco is a major mining centre and the capital of the region, with a population of approximately 70,000. Copper, lead and zinc concentrates are shipped through the Callao port, located 320km away by road. Part of the zinc concentrate is sold to the Cajamarquilla smelter located in Lima.
