Isoura, SMM - Nickel sulphate refinery

Operated by Sumitomo Metal Mining (SMM), the Isoura plant is located in Niihama City, Japan. The plant produces nickel sulphate from third party nickel briquette feedstock. This feedstock is converted to nickel sulphate via dissolution in sulphuric acid. In 2021, the plant had a nickel sulphate capacity of 10.0kt (in contained Ni) in 2021 and produced 7.7kt (in contained Ni) in the same year.
