Ity gold mine
Report summary
Ity is an open pit operation using conventional open pit mining methods. The asset is located in west of Côte d'Ivoire, 480km from the economic capital of Abidjan. Ore is processed in a 5Mt/a carbon-in-leach processing plant. Stacking of ore on heap leach pads ceased in 2018 as the mine transitioned to CIL processing. In 2020, the mine produced 213koz of gold. Full year gold production is estimated at 230-250koz in 2021. Following feasibility and optimisation studies carried out in 2016 and 2017, construction of the carbon in leach (CIL) processing plant was completed ahead of schedule in 2019 at an initial capital cost of US$412 million.
