Kayseri zinc smelter
Report summary
The zinc smelter at Kayseri was commissioned in 1976. However in 2001, due to raw materials supply problems and mounting debts the smelter was closed and owners declared bankrupt. In 2005 the company was bought and production of Waelz clinker, but not slab zinc, was restarted. The probability of the complete smelter restarting and producing slab zinc is very low and, in this analysis, it is assumed that it will not happen.
