Kidd Creek (closed) copper smelter

The smelter was commissioned in 1981 with a nominal capacity of 59kt/a copper and at a cost of US$240M, including the refinery. The potential for higher production by increased oxygen enrichment was demonstrated with purchased liquid oxygen.
