Kobada is an open pit operation using conventional processing, located in southern Mali. The geology is composed primarily of sedimentary rocks with minor tholeiitic volcano-sedimentary intercalations, with gold present in the laterite, saprolite and quartz veins. Ore is to be processed at 6.0Mt/a with most of the ore being oxide material. Operations includes milling, gravity concentration, Carbon in Leach (CIL), Zadra elution, gold electrowinning and carbon regeneration. Initial mine life is estimated at 10 years with significant upside opportunity to extend.
