Report summary

Las Bambas is a large open pit copper mine approximately 75 south southwest of Cusco and 300km north northwest of Arequipa in the Cotabambas province Apurimac region of Peru. The mine is 130 km northwest of the Tintaya copper mine. It operates a 140kt/d concentrator that was expected to produce the first five years around 400 450kt/a of copper in the concentrator. This concentrator is located at an altitude of 4 200masl. The copper concentrate contains some gold and silver and is free of deleterious elements.
