Los Pelambres copper mine
Report summary
The Los Pelambres operation comprises an open-pit mine and crushing plant located at 3050masl connected to a beneficiation plant at 1600masl. by a 12.7km long conveyor. Copper concentrate produced at the beneficiation plant is transported by a 120km pipeline to a filter plant at Punta Chungo, to the north of the port of Los Villos. Tailings from the beneficiation plant are pumped 60km to the Mauro tailings dam.
