McPhillamys gold project

The McPhillamys deposit, owned by Regis Resources, is located approximately 250km west of Sydney and 35km south east of Orange in the central west region of New South Wales. It is proposed to be mined using conventional load and haul open pit mining. The open pit will be mined in two stages in order reduce the waste overburden which needs to be moved, particularly in the first years of operation. The processing plant, has a nameplate capacity of 7Mtpa and will be comprised of three stages of crushing, grinding, gravity recovery and ultra-fine grinding, a conventional carbon-in-leach circuit, electrowinning and smelting to produce gold doré.
