Merian gold mine

Report summary

Merian is the largest greenfield gold project commissioned since the end of the gold bull run in late-2012. The operation comprises two main open-pit deposits (Merian 2 and Maraba) with ore processed in a 12Mt/a carbon in leach (CIL) circuit. Commercial production commenced in Ocotber 2016 and in 2017, the mine produced 513koz of gold. Average annual gold production is estimated at 350koz/a over the life of mine (400-500koz/a in the first 5 years). Mine life is estimated at 15 years.
