Mission copper mine
Report summary
The Mission complex comprises open pit mining of the Mission, Eisenhower, Pima, Mineral Hill, North San Xavier and South San Xavier properties. The complex also includes two concentrator facilities, the Mission Mill (also known as the North Mill) and the South Mill. Underground mining stopped in 2003. The South mill was placed on ‘care and maintenance' in 2002 and re-opened in 2007. Control of dust emissions is a key operating priority with residential build up close to mine-site.
