Report summary
ArcelorMittal's flagship iron ore operation in Canada includes two mines and a processing plant, supported by an integrated logistics system. The complex produced 24.2 Mt in 2024, an 8% increase from 2023. A C$205 million investment is underway to upgrade the Port-Cartier pellet plant for DR pellets production. The asset faces challenges like harsh weather conditions and recent wildfires. Owned 85% by ArcelorMittal and 15% by an Asian consortium, Mont Wright can play a crucial role in supplying ArcelorMittal's steel feedstock to meet their decarbonisation strategy.
