Asset Report
Morococha zinc mine
Report summary
Morococha is an underground silver-zinc-lead-copper mine that produces concentrates through the 2.8kt/d ore conventional concentrator. Concentrates are shipped through the Callao port located 140km away. Sometimes part of the zinc concentrate is sold to the Cajamarquilla smelter located in Lima. In late February 2022 Morococha was placed on care and maintenance. This was expected since the Toromocho copper mine was expected to expand its open pit operations around the Morococha concentrator. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs.
