Asset Report
Morro Agudo zinc mine
Report summary
Morro Agudo is 100% owned by Nexa Resources S.A. (Before Companhia Mineira de Metais). Morro Agudo is comprised of the Morro Agudo underground mine and the new (since May 2017) Ambrosia Sul mine and a 3.1kt/d ore plant (2017 capacity). In the future the plan is to offset the declining ore production by developing other satellite mines. The Morro Agudo mine-mill is located 45km south of the Paracatu municipality and the Ambrosia trend deposits 15-20 km northwest of Paracatu. The zinc concentrate is treated in the Tres Marias smelter located 220km away from the mine.
