Report summary

The refinery is located on Naoshima Island, Kagawa Prefecture in the Seto Inland Sea.  Sea links via the company's own wharf for 20kt vessels are excellent. Mitsubishi commenced copper smelting operations at Naoshima in 1918.  However, the refinery, with an initial capacity of 90kt/a, was not commissioned until 1969.  Capacity was increased to 166kt/a with the commissioning of No. 2 tankhouse in 1974.  Capacity was further increased to 190kt/a in July 1992 by the addition of a further 64...
