North China delivered iron ore cost comparison Q4 2013

Report summary

Our Q4 2013 total cost and freight (CFR) costs to Tianjin range from US$36/tonne to over US$136/tonne (adjusted to a 62% Fe equivalent, dry tonne basis). Maintaining the status quo of 2012, exporters from Australia and Brazil dominate the bottom half of the cost curve in Q4 2013. On a straight shipped tonnes basis, Australia and Brazil have a similar average delivered cost of US$48/tonne.  This average has increased by US$6/tonne from 2012.
