Noyelles-Godault zinc smelter

Report summary

Lead production commenced at Noyelles-Godault in 1898 and there is currently a 150kt/a-lead smelter together with an associated lead refinery on site.  An Imperial Smelting Furnace with an upper shaft area of 17.2m2 was commissioned in 1962.  The design capacity was 35kt/a zinc.
