Report summary

Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation's (NSSMC) Oita plant located on the southwest island of Kyushu produces only hot rolled coil and plate. The plant includes two huge blast furnaces (5,775 cubic metres each) which are among the largest the world and are the biggest in Japan.
