Report summary
Oyu Tolgoi comprises the Heruga, Hugo South and Hugo North Lifts 1 & 2 block cave underground mines plus the Southern Oyu open pits that will all feed a conventional concentrator. Open pit production from Southern Oyu (Oyut) commenced in 2013, and construction is currently underway on the Hugo North Lift 1 block cave. In 2019, the company commenced a mine design review following identification of geotechnical stability issues. A revised mine design and updated cost estimate were announced in 2020.
