Pechenga copper mine
Report summary
The Pechenga group includes seven Ni-Cu deposits, all located within the vicinity of the towns of Zapolyarny and Nikel. These are: Zhdanovsky, Zapolyarny, Kotselvaara-Kammikive, Semiletka, Sputnik, Bystrinky and Tundrovoe. The first four are being mined, with Sputnik on stand-by and the latter two still in the exploration stage. Kotselvaara has 15 years mine life left, after which it is envisaged to bring Sputnik on stream.
