Report summary

Pedra de Ferro is a mine located at the Caetite region in Bahia state, Brazil.  It is 100% owned and operated by Bahia Mineracao (Bamin), a wholly owned Brazilian subsidiary of ENRC (Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation). The mine commenced production in the first half of 2013 selling only into the domestic market.  Pedra de Ferro currently produces a mix direct shipping ore (DSO) lump and fines but will transition into a concentrate only operation. In 2016, ENRC and the government of Bahia state tried to close a deal with the Chinese Latin America Investment Fund (Clai-Fund) and the China Railway Engineering Group (Creg) in order to attract funds and finalize both the Aritagua port and the East-West railway.
