Report summary
Phoenix (Battle Mountain) is a gold mine (with by-product copper production) operated by Newmont Mining Corporation as part of their Nevada operations. It is located 20km south of Battle Mountain. Start up was achieved in Q2 2006 and commercial production in October of the same year. Newmont developed a copper leach SxEw plant to process lower grade copper oxide ores. Capital cost for this project was US$169 million for an estimated average annual copper production of 20Mlb (for the first 5 years).
