Report summary
Pioneer has transitioned from an open pit operation utilising conventional truck and shovel mining methods to a combined open pit and underground operation with development of the North East Bakhmut and Andreevskaya underground mines. Higher grade material is processed at an on-site 6.7Mt/a resin-in-pulp (RIP) plant whilst low grade material was processed by heap leaching, typically between April to November. Heap leaching ceased in 2018 with residual leaching continuing into 2019.
